Maundy Thursday Worship

Maundy Thursday Worship

This service traditionally ends the penitential practices of Lent and begins the final preparation for Easter. Maundy has its root in the Latin mandatum and mandé in middle english, meaning command. Therefore, this worship service is rooted in the central command of Christ to love another as Christ first loved us! This worship will live out this command in rituals of confession and absolution, footwashing, and in Holy Communion. The Bible records two events on the Thursday before Jesus’ death: his last extraordinary meal with his followers and his symbolic gesture of washing their feet. Join us for this immersive service of ancient rituals that remind us of the love we receive and offer to the world!
