About Worship

Worship is at the heart of what we do at Redeemer

In worship at Redeemer, we celebrate the Holy Trinity, proclaim Christ crucified and risen, share in the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, and support each other in our common life of faith. Lutheran worship is known for its attention to preaching and to music. Our worship is reverent and friendly, relevant and timeless, participatory and reflective. At Redeemer we use the liturgy, the age-old pattern of the church, which provides a recognizable flow to the service.

Every worship service includes:

  • Readings from the Bible
  • Prayers for the church, world, our neighbors and ourselves
  • The Lord’s Prayer
  • The celebration of Holy Communion
  • Music and singing
  • A benediction and sending

We may also:

  • Confess our sins and receive forgiveness
  • Celebrate or remember the Sacrament of Baptism
  • Sing the Kyrie, Gloria, or Feast of Victory
  • Hear the Word proclaimed through a sermon given by a pastor or other leader
  • Include a lesson designed specifically for children
  • Enjoy special music provided by our Chancel Choir, Alleluia Ringers, or Children’s Choir, soloists or ensembles.
  • Proclaim the Apostles or Nicene Creed
  • Give offerings of time, talent, or treasure
  • Sing the Holy and Lamb of God

Communion: At Redeemer all are welcome to participate in Holy Communion including those visiting and small children. Those participating online are also welcome to share in the sacrament, providing their own elements at the appropriate time. Wine, grape juice, bread, and gluten free bread are provided at our in-person worship. If you do not want to come forward to receive communion, you may pick up prepacked elements when you enter the church. If you do not wish to receive communion you are welcome to remain seated or come forward for a blessing.

If you have questions about receiving communion at Redeemer, one of our pastors would love to talk to you!

Bulletins: Bulletins printed with 14 pt. font are provided to all in-person worship participants. On-line worshippers may download a bulletin from our website.

Service Length: Services are about 60 minutes long.  Sometimes special services take longer.

Sermons: Sermons are recorded and are available on the website.

Children: Children are welcome at all services and are encouraged to participate in all parts of worship. Staffed childcare is provided for children 6 and under during the 11AM service (when we have two services) and during the 10AM service (when we have only one). During the academic year children 3-11 are dismissed to Godly Play Sunday School after the Children Sermon at the 11AM service. To learn more about childcare or Sunday school visit the links provided.

Accessibility: Four spaces in the chancel are reserved for wheelchair users. The church aisles and bathrooms do accommodate those with mobility needs. If worshippers prefer to remain in the pews for Holy Communion prepackaged elements are available for pick up as you enter.

We look forward to worshipping with you!
