Women’s Connection

The Women’s Connection Committee was formed in 1998 with the purpose of providing social and service opportunities for members of Redeemer throughout the year.  Here are some of our past events.

  1. We hold an annual Progressive Dinner to promote fellowship and provide all members, new and old, an opportunity to meet new people in the congregation.
  2. We have held wedding and baby showers for staff members of Redeemer.
  3. We spearheaded the activities and banquet for Redeemer’s 100th Anniversary celebration in 2021.
  4. We secure group tickets for Chicago area plays and musicals, inviting all members to attend. In recent years, we have seen Hamilton, White Christmas, And Then There Were None, Lion King and Motown the Musical. One of our most popular past events was attending the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues in Chicago.
  5. We have supported women’s charities such as a protective shelter for abused as well as disabled women. Currently, we are concentrating on providing financial support to Lutheran Social Services foster care.

If you are interested in helping Women’s Connection members with the planning of future activities, or if you would like to become a member of the committee, please contact, Marge Chapello, Marilyn Lindberg or Kathy Selcke.
