Vision for Ministry
"Do justice, love mercy, walk humbly." Pr Kelsey is a lifelong Lutheran with a heart for people, who has been formed by communities in the parish, camping ministry, advocacy world, Holy Land, and city of Chicago. These communities taught her that the Holy Spirit is ever-present with and through us, calls us forth to love our neighbors, and humbles us in where we discover God at work.
To Pr. Kelsey, the deepest call to ministry is the tangible grace of God, revealed through building and belonging in community. Christ’s love and care for all people is the foundation for the ministry she believes the church plays an active role in modeling. Pr. Kelsey believes the church is called to serve the wider community because all people are in need of hope, care, and love.
Pr. Kelsey enjoys working with children, youth, and adults at Redeemer through creative and thoughtful programming as well as wider outreach into the western suburbs. She enjoys relationship building with other Christian churches, as well as other communities of faith.
She was raised Lutheran, and calls Apollo Beach Florida, Austin Texas, and Des Moines Iowa home. She enjoys making greeting cards, discovering new parks with her dog Mudge, and a good cup of coffee.
